Juneteenth in Columbia 'A celebration of unity, awareness and freedom'

Celebrating freedom and a chance to come together in appreciation for one another is one of the reasons Columbia was one of the the first cities in the state to vow to adopt Juneteenth as an official holiday. Although Memphis was the first city in Tennessee to officially approve the holiday, it was Columbia who first made its intentions known.
